Yes Virginia, it is spring again
Ah yes! It’s spring here at massiveRonin.com and like so many birds, bees, and just about everything else, thoughts of creating new things is on my mind. The cold has begun to subside, the snow and ice have melted, and the ground has begun to thaw like a mother-in-law who has finally decided you’re not a serial axe-murderer bent on stealing her baby boy away from her.
What’s with all the metaphor, positive “vibes”, and general positivity you ask? Well, the extra assistance with being depressed that Seasonal Affective Disorder1 is being lifted by the warmer temperatures and longer periods of actual high directional sunlight, and there’s a few exciting things going on that I’d to share, if you’ll just continue reading.

Cut Off Creator Contact For Upcoming Creation, requests Ronin’s Return
To start off the list, Martin Wong, the director of the short film “Cut Off” is working on another project and has contacted me for further voice acting and sound design work on it! No details available that I can release just yet, but I can say that I’m excited to work on another of his projects. Keep those ears perked up and those eyes peeled for details about the project once I can release more info including the estimated release date!
New artwork soon to be added to site
With the return of my 10W laser engraver and the acquisition of some new materials, I’ve also had a resurgence in general feelings of creativity and drive to produce artwork. This has resulted in new pieces to add to the site’s gallery in general as well as to my portfolio and eventually to the online store’s offerings.

I’ve been pondering the idea of making a massiveCustoms subsite here, allowing for online orders of the many customized products I’m capable of adding customization and personalization to, as well as furthering my plans to have custom artwork and sculpture sales on the site. I’ll be posting a full writeup about the items being sold and a bit about the personalization and customization capabilities I have here in my studio.

I’ve decided to cave in to the many requests for teaching others about VOIP and the Asterisk Telephony Platform. I’ve turned down offers of writing a course for a company and then traveling the United States teaching said course in the past, as well as many individual course or personal instruction/training opportunities. I always had a good reason for doing so, usually either issues with the amount of travel, or the compensation structure. However, this time, I’m putting in the work to not only create the course(s), but I’m self-hosting the platform as well. That means a lot of server side technical work to get everything running smoothly, and I’ve already gone through about 8 learning management systems/platforms that didn’t quite balance the backend technical work needed with the work necessary for creating and teaching courses, not to mention marketing the site and it’s courses. But I’ve narrowed the list down to two possible candidates and I’m going to be testing both for the next couple of weeks. After that, it’s course building and production installation time!
