Deeper Truth

The real meaning behind my artistic Pseudonym

The name Massive:Ronin is actually a self-deprecating moniker. “Ronin” was a term for a samurai who was out of a job, typically due to a killed or deposed master, leaving the samurai unemployed and dishonored. A Ronin was expected to commit seppuko, a form of ritual suicide, to regain honor for their family and ancestors. Those who did not were either killed or lived their lives on the run from the new rulers that had killed/deposed their master. They were not looked upon favorably by almost everyone, and were considered second class citizens (if not lower).

That said, “massive ronin” is meant to have a meaning along the same vein, as in the artist is a huge “second-class citizen who should have died” and is intended to be a hidden insult directed at the artist himself.
